Holidays
Gearing up for the Holidays --- doing lots of decorating, little shopping, and feeling very sentimental. Depressed at times also. The weather has been very gray, and not snowy yet. I like the temperate weather, but would like a little snow for Christmas. Can't wait to see the grandkids at Christmas --- and get families together. We do Christmas Eve at our house, and Christmas at my Mom's with sisters and respective husbands for breakfast. Nice time. We will probably cook a dinner for ourselves that afternoon also -- or maybe visit the grandkids to see them with all their new toys.

yet Again
Well, it's been a while yet again. This time my sister was calling for someone in her office about restaurants in the "Big City". HAHA. He was looking to see where he could use a gift certificate and she said "wait" I'll call my sister! She knows all about places in the area. Very Funny. It's turning cold, and we are planning on packing up the boat this weekend. Always a depressing thing. Other than that, getting ready to hibernate and have lots of fires and comfort food. So, I'm dieting to make sure that I don't put on any extra pounds over the holidays!

More Advice
Well, they are at it again --- siblings calling to "pick my brain" on where to find certain gift items. The night before I was on the phone with my brother who had "concerns" about my Mother after seeing her for the first time in MONTHS! Told him that if he really wanted to know something to CALL HER. Oh well, he's the oldest and I'm the one who gets all the calls LOL. Back to my advice column.....I should start a web site for gift giving ideas.

Suzie's Advice
I'm thinking of starting a new column --- I have a sister who always calls me when she needs advice on gift giving, restaurants, etc. Apparently I have good ideas when it comes to this kind of stuff. I'm not sure how I would go about it, but it would be fun to do a q & a for people searching for advice on an assortment of subjects. I also do a lot of traveling which would be another fun topic. I'm thinking....

Been a while
Wow, it's been quite a while since I've signed on. Surgery went very well, and hubby is not nearly pain free! He has been bike riding -- new bike for Father's day. We've both been trying to bike more.
This a.m., went to court with my step-son --- divorce is starting. Today was pretty much a preliminary thing to get him out of the house and get shared custody of their son. Nothing happened this a.m. -- just the lawyers talking to the judge. Yippee.
Oh well, life goes on. We are experiencing really hot weather and we are loving it while everyone else complains. Good for the boating season --- sailed Saturday and Sunday. Sunday more out of necessity --- engine (diesel) kept quitting on us. It was extremely hot on Sunday, so we kayaked and swam a lot. FUN!

Surgery soon
Hi --- Next week hubby is going into surgery for his aching back --- and nerve which is affecting leg movement and pain. Scary stuff. I'm starting to feel a bit alone with this -- no one to talk to about what's going on with him except him....Guess I should have kept in touch with girlfriends a bit better. I'm a bit of a loner in that respect. Hope everything goes well -- he is my best friend and recovery could take a bit. In the meantime I am trying to think of something fun to do this weekend to keep his mind off of things.
