January

January seems to be flying by - which with all of the snow we are getting is a good thing. I'm so ready to start getting back outside for training - biking and running. Though I still do most of my running outdoors - some days it is really tough.

Things are progressing with Divorce - I guess --- lawyers are such a pain but necessary. Otherwise - I'm OK....just OK ... lots of times sad and hurt - and then I get together with my girlfriends and all is forgotten - we have so much fun together. I have lots of new friends lately - I think now that I am less sheltered by soontobeex - though he wanted to go out more - I avoided it because of his drinking problem. Now I feel like I can accept more invitations - parties, or just going to the movies, etc. and have fun with friends. Also a lot of my friends are the same as me - either runners or triathletes which makes it fun to do stuff - we plan things around our workouts.

Onward and upward - to more positive attitude and days I hope.

Doggies arrested

HAHAHA....no they did not really get arrested - but our neighbors called and complained to Animal Control about Marla's barking. There is a squirrel or chipmunk that is living in their wood pile - next to OUR fence - and Marla wants it to come out! So, she stands by it and barks and barks. The cooler weather is here now, so she will be in the house a little more - but can't do a lot about her barking.

Animal Control came and gave us a warning. We have tried to keep her in a little more, and/or tire her out with walks - which sometimes helps. She is a hound, so really likes to hunt.

Lunch Day

The one thing I do not understand about the "boys lunch" is that they always go to the same restaurant --- which I know the food is good, but it is so dingy.

Today it is 83 degrees --- now, there is another restaurant really close to the one they frequent which has an outdoor patio that would be a beautiful place to eat!! They are a bunch of retirees --- guess you don't care about getting outside at some point......I'll never understand.

Good day for me --- swam this morning -- Triathlon training and biked on lunch hour 10 miles.

Feta and Marla

Boy am I behind --- we got Marla in January --- and I think Hubby is ready to send her back. She's torn up two bedspreads now -- and she barks way too much. But she is so cute and Feta loves having a playmate. It would be very difficult for me to give her up now --

Marla is 5 months now and Feta is 16 months....and they are pretty much inseparable.

It's Been Ages

Since I posted. Guess I got too busy with Facebook....LOL. Seems everyone these days in on there. Was just reading someone's blog so I thought I'd get back into the game here ---

Been training a lot for triathlons --- and Hubby is starting to ride -- says he will challenging me soon on the bike. Woohoo....I hope so. I need a good push when I ride --- sometimes I get pretty casual.

Back soon for more posts.

August 29th Triathlon

I had a great time at the Triathlon --- in spite of a stress fracture -- which turned into two fractures.

It poured rain that day on and off --- cool and wet. Swim was actually a little foggy right on the water, so the first few waves of swimmers were off course right at the start. We did better as the last wave --- we had seen everyone else go off course. I actually started to veer off at the last buoy turn, and was redirected. Swim went well for me -- good time.

Got out, transitioned to bike without much effort -- put on a shirt which is tough when you are wet -- I did not use a wetsuit -- I don't own one yet. I skipped wearing sunglasses --- it was raining and gray. Bike was pretty fast -- though I think I was a little cautious on the turns because of the rain which actually hurt a few times when speeding into the raindrops.

Hubby was out on the bike course which was really neat -- so he routed me on out and back.

After the bike I was going to walk the final leg -- 5K -- but I started walking and my foot hurt a little, so I tried a slow jog. Actually did not feel that bad, so I ran the rest of the distance. Besides I figured I would be the last person in if I walked it --- it was a fast crowd -- so I ran it. Got quite a surprised look from hubby when he saw me at the finish line running in. Then he asked if I ran the whole thing. --- told him pretty much yes. I was so excited that I finished without too much pain that it didn't matter about the second fracture.

It did bother me when we got to Hawaii -- my foot. But who cares, we were in Hawaii!! I swam a lot while we were there and tried to stay off of my foot as much as possible.

Feta while we were on vacation

This was sent to us in Hawaii (Maui) by my step-daughter.....very funny. They were babysitting the dog -- 10 month old puppy who hates to be left alone.

"Hi, Mommy and Daddy! Hope you had a good trip. I am having a great time here. These people are very nice!! I woke the lady up this morning to take me out, and she kept saying it was early, but it was daylight, so I don't know what the problem was! Went back to bed for a bit, and later, we went for a car ride!!! I saw Daddy's truck, but he was not there, so I got a little homesick. I spent most of the afternoon on my bed, but the nice people kept coming in to pet me and love me!! I had a great dinner with some of that great food I like, and then me and the yellow dog played out back while the people ate!! That yellow dog seems nice, but she is a bit of a stick in the mud! And, the best part was, after the big guy ate, he gave me a bone!!! Now it is early evening, and I am feeling quite energetic....luckily they have a bunch of little people to entertain!!! Talk to you again soon!!

Feta"

Cutest thing ever --- we laughed, and laughed. Then we started getting other messages....
She tore up a pillow one night, then a couch cushion and shoes and then kids stuffed animals.....She was in trouble. Missed her mom and dad.

Dog Day at the Valley Cats

Tonight is Doggie Day at the Valley Cats Minor league baseball park. We are bringing our girl Feta -- who is now almost 9 months old and meeting with her boyfriend Truman and his parents!! Should be interesting --- to see how many other dogs will be there and how they will all get along.

Hot dogs for everyone!!!
